This evening kicks off the Sunset Terrace at The Avalon happy hour events. It's every Thursday evening during the Downtown Grand Junction Farmer's Market. The music will be awesome, the food top notch, and the beverages ice cold, what may be the star of the show is the view!
Starting next Thursday, June 22ed and every Thursday through September 14th, during the Downtown Grand Junction Farmer’s Market, it's "Happy Hour" on the “Sunset Terrace at The Avalon.”
The biggest party in Junction this weekend is Saturday night June 3rd at The Mesa Theater. Zolopht is a large enough party in their own right. However, when they invite some heavyweight musical friends, it takes it to another level entirely.
Zolopht is one of Western Colorado's best bands. Their mix of funk, reggae, and rock is unique and what they do is special. The guys recently returned from a lengthy US tour and dropped by the 95 Rock studio. They shared stories from the road, progress on the new album, and the Downtown Music Festival they headline on Friday, May 19th.
I've been in radio for nearly 30 years. In that stretch of time, I've seen hundreds of bands and countless shows. After all that excessive music consumption, I have developed a keen ear when it comes to musical talent. After hearing a couple songs I can tell you if a band has what it takes to break through. Zolopht is one of those bands.
