Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park will be closing at 6 p.m. Wednesday (Oct 9) due to the snow storm in the forecast.

The road travels a distance of 48 miles from Estes Park to Grand Lake, Colorado. This storm is expected to bring 10" of snow to Rocky Mountain National Park in the next 48 hours.

 

The official weather forecast from the National Weather Service:

Tonight: Snow showers, mainly after 9pm. The snow could be heavy at times. Low around 10. Breezy, with a southwest wind 12 to 17 mph becoming south southeast 5 to 10 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible.
