The Salvation Army Family Store on North 4th is moving. I had stopped in a few weeks ago in search of some accessories for my New Years Eve party outfit. I had noticed there hasn't been much traffic at the store recently, the store is a block behind the radio station, now I know why.

The "Family Store", once called the "Thrift Store" had been at that location for a long time. It first opened its doors in 1996. The store serves not only Grand Junction but all of Mesa County. It's a great option whether it's clothes, furniture, household items, or appliances you may be in need and those being new isn't a requirement.

A date for the grand re-opening hasn't been set yet. The new location will be 240 North Avenue. Basically the corner of 3rd and North in the old Harbert Lumber building.

The holidays are over but the need for donations doesn't have a seson. If you have any items, clothes, appliances, or even a car you no longer have use of, please consider donating them to the new Family Store. You can even sechedule a pick-up of those larger items. Everything sold at the Family Stores funds their Adult Rehabilitation Centers, where those in the grip of addiction find help, hope, and a second chance at life.
