The Grand Valley to Experience Massive Cool Down Next Week

After a long, hot summer, the Grand Valley will be seeing a significant drop in temperatures beginning early next week.

In fact, while meteorologists are calling for a high of 100 degrees Saturday, 99 degrees Sunday, and 95 degrees on Monday (Labor Day,) Tuesday will only be seeing a high of 64 degrees with a low of 39. Yes, that's just seven degrees shy of freezing.

In addition, Tuesday is also slated to have a 20% chance of rain, which we could definitely use right now.

2020 has been a bummer of a year for a lot of reasons. However, other than COVID-19 turning the world upside down, getting people sick, ruining all of our plans, and in one fell swoop, completely altering the way we live our day to day lives, one big reason that this year has been tough on us in the Grand Valley has been the Pine Gulch Fire.

Luckily, despite becoming the largest wildfire in Colorado's history, it is now over 80% contained, and hopefully the cool days ahead of us will make conditions less grueling for our firefighters and if we do get some moisture, that could certainly help matters as well.

I've lived in four very different parts of Colorado, and this will have been my first full summer here. Granted, I did live in Pueblo for ten years which is comparable in climate, but I'm definitely ready for some cooler days.

In addition to Tuesday's cool temperatures, Wednesday and Thursday are slated to experience highs in the 70s, while the rest of the week will stay in the 80s.
