Grand Valley Bracing For 50 MPH Wind Gusts
Strong winds are blowing through the Grand Valley today prompting warnings from the National Weather Service.
The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for Western Colorado, effective until 11:00PM.
Winds will be peaking this afternoon and this evening as a cold front works its way from Utah into Colorado. Winds of 20-30 MPH are forecast with gusts nearing 50 MPH, from mid afternoon into the mid-evening hours.
The weather service says travel can be impacted in these kinds of winds, and driving can be difficult - especially on north/south roadways.
Open burning is also strongly discouraged today.
Tuesday is expected to be a breezy day in Western Colorado, although the wind should not be as strong as Monday.
