With 2020 already being so crazy, it's nice to hear that we will probably have a normal winter coming up according to The Old Farmer's Almanac. It's always nice to know what to expect when looking at upcoming forecasts but I really appreciate that The Old Farmer's Almanac lets us put in our zip code to pinpoint more exact predictions for our region.

The first details given were describing the weather for the rest of August which looks mostly sunny with the potential for a little bit of rainfall toward the end of the month. Most of September is looking great too with sunshine and warm temperatures until the very end of the month when we should start expecting to see more showers.

Now once we start talking about the winter months we start seeing the normal changes. The Old Farmer's Almanac is predicting slightly below average temperatures and precipitation for our winter months. The coldest temperatures should be in early to mid-December, and also late in the month for January and February.  We should be expecting snowfall throughout the month of December and again in late January and February.

But everyone who has spent time in Western Colorado knows that our snowfall normally doesn't stick around for very long. Most likely if you drive to work in the snow by the time you go home there is no longer snow on the roads.

Obviously, when your making weather predictions this far out it's easy for those to change but as of now, it looks like it will be a mild winter for us here on the Western Slope.
