If you've been following along I've spent several weekends exploring some of the amazing sights here in Western Colorado and Eastern Utah. As the year winds down I thought it would be a good time to share some of my favorites.
I knew it was coming. I also knew it would happen earlier here than it usually did back in Kansas. Today's snow falling outside my office window makes it official. I've witnessed my first western Colorado snow.
I've been on up on the Grand Mesa two weekends in a row. I was amazed how much more color there was this week compared to last. On the way up I stopped at Powderhorn. I know now why this past Saturday and Sunday it's called Color Weekend.
I had some time to kill Sunday afternoon so I figured I'd roll up on The Grand Mesa and see if there was any Aspen action. I was pleasantly surprised to see quite a bit of color. My guess is we're a least a couple weeks out from peak, but it's getting there.
