Silverthorne Is Trowing A Parade For Their Local Olympians
April 28th Silverthorne will celebrate its Olympic heroes!
Mark your calendar! The biggest party this spring will be in Silverthorne as the city celebrates their Winter Olympic and Paralympians. Red Gerard took America by storm when he became the first American to win gold at the 2018 Winter Games. The two weeks later, Kyle Mack, another snowboarder from Silverthorne, won silver in the big air competition. A third local, Chris Corning, also qualified for the finals but did not medal.
In addition to the three Olympians, US Paralympians Amy Purdy and Jimmy Sides are from Silverthorne. They too will be honored during the celebration and parade. Amy became a two-time Paralympic medalist Monday after she scored a second place finish in the snowboard cross competition.
