A Grand Junction music store sold two very nice and very expensive guitars to a man who paid for them with his American Express Card. Not unusual since many Amex card holders have high credit limits. The problem is this card was fake.

You have to assume the thief knows a lot about fine guitars since the two he bought - actually stole - were a Taylor 512 folk style and a Gibson Vintage 1960 Starburst hollow body arch top with a combined value of over $6,500. The guitars were purchased on January 12 at Mesa Music, 2599 Highway 6&50.

The suspect is a black male in his early 20's and is about 6-feet 1-inch tall. At the time of the fraudulent purchase, he was wearing a dark jacket over a blue collared shirt and white pants. The car he was driving is a mid 2000 model dark blue sedan, possibly a Toyota.
