Credit Card Theft in Grand Junction: Can You Identify the Crooks?
Local authorities need your help to identify a couple of credit card thieves.
Quite often when it comes to local crime we have surveillance photos of suspects that are pretty useless. In this case, we have at least one really good photo, however, the problem is we are still in a pandemic and you can't see all of the suspect's face because of the mask he is wearing.
The Crimes
According to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office, the first crime occurred at a local trailhead while the second crime took place at a Grand Junction box store.
Authorities say credit cards were stolen March 19 from a parked car at the Kodel's Canyon Trailhead. The trailhead is located west of the west entrance to the Colorado National Monument.
The second crime occurred when the suspects apparently used the stolen credit cards to make more than $4000 worth of purchases at the Best Buy in Grand Junction. Deputies were able to obtain surveillance footage of the suspects and are hoping the public can help them identify the men in the photos.
Can You Help Identify the Suspects?
While one of the photos is fairly clear, the suspect's face is partially obscured because he's acting as a responsible citizen and wearing a facemask. The other photo provided by the store isn't so great.
If by chance you think you recognize either of the two men in the photos, you can submit a tip through CRIMEWATCH or contact Mesa County Crime Stoppers. Through Crime Stoppers you can anonymously submit a tip and information you provide that leads to an arrest could earn you a cash reward.
