I normally like to hide the fact that I'm a grown-up child. However, on a day like today, that's impossible. The new Xbox One game, Halo 5, is out today and I can't escape the fact that it rocks. Completely. And, I'm not the only one that thinks so.

Here are what some of the major video game review sites are saying about Halo 5. First up, it's The Verge.

Don’t play Halo 5 for its story, then. Play Halo 5 because it’s technique — an absolute masterclass in how to craft a first-person shooter. Its best reason yet to own an Xbox One.

The normally business-focused Forbes is even raving.

Everything matters, every moment, every set piece. This is a game clearly made by people who love Halo. Halo 5: Guardians has tremendous momentum that doesn’t stop till the very end. The only real complaint I have is that it was over too soon.

Polygon knows their games and they know they love the new Halo.

Halo 5 feels like it knows its obligations. The campaign's narrative is likely to prove controversial, though its biggest sin may be its familiarity. Otherwise, Halo 5 excels under the pressure, providing one of the most welcoming, competitive, balanced and fun games of the year — and providing my personal favorite Halo multiplayer since the series began.

If you are also a grown up child, or maybe you're just a child and you love video games, you need to play this game. If enough of us do it, maybe it will feel less awkward. Or, maybe not, but who cares - it's Halo.
