Two weeks ago I first told you about the free QUOR concert this Tuesday evening November 15th at The Mesa Theatre. Since it has been awhile, I figured a reminder was in order.

QUOR would be a bargin at $10. Don't let the "free" fool you. You shouldn't miss this show. These guys are really good!

As I had mentioned before their style is had to explain. It's better witnessed in person. The mix of rock, metal, indie-punk will intrigue you. There's also hints of thrash, groove, and soul as part of the musical soup that is QUOR.

The story of their unique name is interesting as well. Originally they were called We Are Going To Be Awesome but wound up changing their name after Guitarist/Vocalist Brian Corn saw a giant liquor store sign glowing off in the distance on a foggy night out on the Pacific Coast Highway. Brian comments about how the catchy name came about, "The L and I were out and the sign read QUOR. I had to stop and photograph the sign.  The band name was changed to QUOR as we wanted a simple unique name.  The name QUOR poked at the current state of rock labeling everything into ‘core’ genre’s (hardcore, mathcore, metalcore, etc etc.) and we also avoided the trends in band naming that make every band sound the same"

Whatever they call themselves, they're a force soon to be reckoned with. You may not know their name now, but you will. Make the effort to come out Tuesday evening because as Bluto so eloquently says in Animal House "...it don't cost nothin."
