First Ever Lazy Man Olympics Is Huge Success
Yesterday evening wrapped up Junction's first ever Lazy Man Olympics. The day-and-a-half event went off without a hitch as 60+ teams battled for the right to be crowned 1st ever Lazy Man Champions!
The event was a benefit for Hilltop Domestic Violence Services-Latimer House. When the idea was discussed for a fundraiser, the last thing we wanted was to host another golf tournament. Don't get me wrong, they're great fundraisers, and having done radio for nearly 30 years, I've promoted my share. However, we wanted something fun and different so the idea of a few events of a couple days was floated.
After some discussion, we decided on Texas Hold 'em Poker, Corn Hole, and of course a round of golf. The only criteria were that the events are not too strenuous. It is a "Lazy Man" event.
The Poker and Corn Hole competition was held at the DoubleTree hotel. Thanks again for their hospitality and help. We certainly couldn't have done it without them.
Bookcliff Country Club hosted Saturday afternoon's golf event and the evening's award ceremonies. Another big thank you to them and their staff. Again, we simply couldn't have done it without them.
Closest to the pin and longest drive winners scored cool recliners from Black Carriage Funatinure.
Second place Silver medalist. Good job!
Gold medalist and 1st Annual Lazy Man Olympics Champions! Congratulations!
Thanks again to all our volunteers, staff, and competitors. We'll see you next year!
