It's spring and my fishing fever is sky high! I'm also a "fish outta water" not knowing where to go around here.  Are these Colorado's best fishing spots?

Back home in Missouri, I can put you on 'em in just about every lake in the state. Here, I don't have a clue. I also know too, any fisherman worth his, or her, salt would never disclose the location of their secret spot. So I did some asking and searching and here is what I've come up with.

According to the Colorado Parks and Wildlife, these lakes and streams are some of the best in the state. The results are based on water quality, overall fish population, and best chance to land a quality trout.

BEST STREAMS

Animas River: the best stretch is from Lightner Creek to Rivera Crossing

Arkansas River: From Lake Fork to Leadville

Blue River: From the Dillon dam down to Green Mountian Reservoir inlet

Colorado River: From Fraser River to Troublesome creek

Frying Pan River: From the Ruedi Reservoir dam down to Roaring Fork River

BEST LAKES

North Delaney Butte Lake: The lake is surrounded by open prairie land that offers panoramic views of majestic, mountain landscapes. Sounds nice.

Spinney Mountian Reservoir: This reservoir is known internationally for its trophy-sized northern pike, rainbows, cutthroats and browns that are taken all season long.

Steamboat Lake: 58,512 hatchling Rainbow Trout were stocked into the lake just this week. Sure, it'll be a few years before they'll be of any size but the future looks bright.

Are these the places I need to try?  Perhaps you'd be kind enough to share your favorite spot.  I'm ready! Let's go fish'n!
