Lawmakers in Colorado have advanced a measure to crack down on hash oil production. Over the past year, there have been a number of explosions with injuries linked to the production of the product.

Opponents of the measure don't want to see the production of hash oil limited to the commercial growers. They claim the production can be done safety, but more education is needed.

Proponents think that amateur hash oil production is too dangerous and needs to be regulated for public safety.

The House is expected to vote on the measure one more time before sending it to the Senate for a final vote. If the measure passes it will make it a felony to use explosive gases to make hash oil at home.
