Marijuana growers in Colorado could come under more scrutiny if a new bill can make it to the Governors desk. The bill is designed to crack down on the unregulated growers who grow large amounts and do not pay taxes.

The bill has passed the first hoop in the Senate and after one more vote will be sent to the House. For the past few years, the state has been trying get a handle on the Marijuana growing in Colorado and this looks like the first real step.

In Colorado, a person can grow small amounts of Marijuana without needing a permit or paying licensing fees but the state wants their cut of those who grow large amounts.

In this bill, any person who grows more than 99 plants for medical  patients will face a background check and will need to get their licence to grow.

The bill also asks the medical growers to keep a list of patients when making their deliveries in case they are stopped by police. during transport of the drug.

The state doesn't mind if we grow or smoke Marijuana, they just want their cut of the taxes.
