Zima Is Coming Back To Colorado
It's a 90's rewind as Zima is back....again.
Denver-based Molson Coors Brewing announced this week that Zima is back again for a limited time. Guys, remember back in the 90's when a trip to the liquor store meant picking up beer for yourself and grabbing some of the fruity flavored beverages for the girls? I'm old enough to recall a decade previous and know what a wine cooler is. It was the same premise. I will deny any actual knowledge but I believe the practice goes back even further with Boone's Farm "Strawberry Hill" and "Tickle Pink." If you're still following along, sorry brother, you're old too. Anyway, I certainly recall more than once grabbing some "chick-friendly" beverages for those summer trips to the lake. I'll even admit to sucking down a Zima or two every 3 or 4 beers just to break up the taste.
Last summer, Miller-Coors surprised everyone with the release of their 90's classic citrus-flavored malt beverage. The success took the company off guard when 2/3rds of their inventory sold within a month. Based on that success, Zima is back again for the summer of 2018! This time around Miller-Coors is cranking out 40% more in hopes of supplying enough to last through Labor Day!
"The enthusiasm from drinkers and, especially, retailers have been off the charts!” "They’re really supporting the brand," says Dilni Fernando, Miller-Coors senior marketing manager.
This summer, for old time sake, grab some Zima, break out the cut-offs, strap on your combat boots, crank up some Nirvana and let's party like its 1990-something!
