Viral Climate Activist Greta Thunberg Coming to Denver This Friday
Greta Thunberg has been one of the biggest voices for climate activism in the media right now. With her unapologetic approach and brash opinions, Thunberg has inspired many, both young and old, to take part in the fight against climate change.
Thunberg's recent 'How dare you' moment at the Climate Action Summit 2019 gained a particular amount of media coverage— you can see that moment right here:
Now, we'll get to see more of Thunberg's passion towards climate activism at the "Fridays For Future" event in Denver this Friday.
According to their website, #FridaysForFuture "is a movement that began in August 2018, after 15 years old Greta Thunberg sat in front of the Swedish parliament every schoolday for three weeks, to protest against the lack of action on the climate crisis.[...] Greta decided to continue striking every Friday until the Swedish policies provided a safe pathway well under 2-degree C, i.e. in line with the Paris agreement."
According to Denver Westword, Thunberg's Denver event will begin at noon in Civic Center Park. To learn more, click here.
