United Way Campaign Raises More Than $900K For Community Agencies
And now for a little good news.
The dollars are in, they have been counted, and the grand total is $905,994 dollars raised by United Way of Mesa County for the 2019-2020 campaign. This is fantastic news.
There is a fantastic group of people who work tirelessly for United Way throughout the year and these dollars are the fruits of their labor. 40 programs within 25 local non-profit agencies are the benefactors of these charitable donations. That means thousands of people in the Grand Valley are getting the help and the services they need to survive and thrive.
Some of the agencies that receive United Way funds include the Community Food Bank, Homeward Bound of the Grand Valley, HopeWest, Mesa County Partners, CASA, and many more.
How about if we give a big shout out to everyone in the Grand Valley who has donated to United Way in the pasts year. Hundreds of businesses have enacted workplace campaigns to get their employees involved in the effort. What we are discovering is that if everyone can do a little, together we can accomplish so much.
Some of these United Way funds come from private donations, foundation support, and the Home Loan Taste of the Grand Valley.
There was going to be a big campaign celebration on Thursday, but due to the current state of things in regards to the COVID 19 situation, the event had to be canceled. That's why I wanted to be sure and give a word of praise to all of the amazing folks at United Way, their partners, sponsors, and all of the people who have given their time, talent, and money to make the Grand Valley a better place to live by helping neighbors in need, and taking care of the needs of our children.
If you give to United Way of Mesa County, give yourself a hand clap and a pat on the back. If you are not contributor, please think about giving back to your community in this way.
