Today Let’s Say Happy Birthday to the United States Marine Corps

It was on this day in 1775 that the United States Marine Corps was born, so happy birthday Marines. Two battalions of the Continental Marines were formed on November 10th to protect the sea and land of the United States.

In April of 1783 the U.S. Marines were disbanded only to be reestablished as part of the Department of the Navy in 1798. Since then they have been one of the greatest fighting forces the world has ever seen.

The United States Marines have been the first in a fight and the last out forever and without them we may have never won World War II.

They have beat back every challenge that America has faced in the field of battle and they have come to the aid of millions when a catastrophic event occurs.

So, today is you know a Marine or just happen to meet one take a moment to say happy birthday and thank them for their service to our great country.
