Have you ever heard of this whiskey? Did you know it's from Colorado? Where can you get your hands on a bottle?

According to Yelp, Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey has been named the best whiskey bar in all of America. You'll find Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey Distillery on the east side of I-25 off of Alameda in Denver.

I don't mean any offense to anyone, but I generally try to avoid Denver. The only time I visit the city is when I'm driving through it to reach my intended destination, usually Kansas City or Nashville. Can you find the product on this side of the mountain?

Well, you won't get to visit the Whiskey Bar itself, but you can find the product here. Several locations, some of which are online retailers, carry the brand. According to Caskcartel.com:

This is the number one American single malt whiskey in the US. Born in the heart of the Rocky Mountains and hand-crafted from barley to bottle in our distillery. Our whiskey is non-chill filtered & well-built in small batches.

Caskcartel.com lists the Stanahan's Colorado Whiskey original at $51.99 for the 750 mL. Okay, that's about $45 more than I typically pay for my favorite wine. Sorry, but it's out of my league.

I placed a call to Fisher's Liquor Barn in Grand Junction, and asked about the availability and cost of the product. They have the one pint bottle listed at $29.99.

I don't see myself ever visiting the whiskey bar in Denver, but I'm anxious to try the product itself. More than anything, as a native Coloradoan (I've been here so long I still say Coloradoan rather than Coloradan) I enjoy the thought of us coming in #1 in any category.
