Spanish Language Comedy Thrives at a Colorado Brewery
Colorado loves its beer, that's no secret, and there are plenty of great breweries of all shapes and sizes across the state. Oftentimes, these establishments will host things like live music events, comedy shows, etc.
However, despite the state of Colorado having a rather thriving comedy scene, you've probably seldom, if ever, been to a local comedy show featuring Spanish-speaking comics.
That is unless you've been to a very special place called Raices Brewing Company, an establishment dedicated to not just great beer, but Spanish-speaking culture as well and one of the only places in Colorado where you'll find a bilingual comedy scene.
Colorado Brewery is Home to Spanish Language Comedy
Raices Brewing Company is located just south of Mile High Stadium at 2060 West Colfax Avenue in Denver.
The brewery first opened its doors in 2019 and immediately began hosting cultural events for Denver's Spanish-speaking population, which accounts for about 30% of the city's population.
However, with the help of Colorado comedian Ricky Ramos, the brewery's Bilingual Coordinator Paula Campos started Raices Comedia, one of the only bilingual comedy nights in all of Colorado.
The comedy night has been going strong since the summer of 2021 and has given Spanish-speaking comedians and comedy fans alike a fun and unique experience.
In addition, Ramos will also be debuting Colorado's first bilingual comedy festival, Vatos Locos Comedy Festival, this coming September 27th through 30th with stops in Denver, Longmont, and Greeley.
