Ski Free at One of Colorado’s Popular Mountains
Monarch Mountain’s annual Free Day is this Monday!
Sure, it's just over a three-hour drive from Grand Junction but to ski Monarch Mountain for free is worth the drive. The bigger trick might be getting off work. The annual Free Day is this Monday. I see you're coming down with a fever already..*wink * wink.
All you need for a free lift ticket, valued at $89 by the way, is a canned food donation. The food collected goes to the Salida Grainery and 1st Presbyterian Church food banks. Both are faith-based ministries that provide food year around to local folks in need. Salida distributes a box of food every two weeks That kind of effort requires a tremendous amount of support. The Salida Caring & Sharing also has a Thrift Store and Resource Center. Find out more about all their good works by clicking HERE. If you forget the canned goods you can make a cash donation. That money will go to the Boys and Girls Club of Chaffee County.
So let's hope you and few friends have a few unused vacation days so you slip over and enjoy Monarch's Free Ski Day! Monarch has a new tubing park too! It just opened last month. Be sure and check that out while you're there! If you find yourself out of vacation days, I'd tell the boss you're not feeling so well today. That way they'll be more understanding when you call in sick on Monday. Happy skiing and thanks for supporting a great cause.
