Spice Up Your Food With These ‘Rock Star’ Hot Sauces

The 2012 Bud Light Colorado Pork N Hops Challenge begins today at Lincoln Park. Barbecue teams from all over the country will take over the park with their secret recipes. Rock stars have their favorite sauces, and some their own brands.

5. KISS 'Hotter Than Hell' Hot Sauce

Kiss has their name on everything, including hot sauce. For less than $10 a bottle online you can get a taste of the official Flaming Youth elixr. At least it's made in the U.S.A. and is a concoction of Habañero peppers, carrots, onions, distilled vinegar, garlic, lime juice and salt.

4. Lynyrd Skynyrd 'Habañero Hot Sauce'

If you need to 'rock your rolls off' this is the sauce for you. For under $10 you can check out Lynyrd Skynyrd's take on Habañero hot sauce. If you want a hot sauce that doesn't try to sell you with a lot of cheesy jokes about the band this is your sauce. Although according to the Great Rock N Roll Hot Sauce Challenge it's pretty weak on the heat.

3. Billy Gibbons 'BFG#44 BBQ Sauce'

The ZZ Top singer and guitarist had the big debut for his barbecue sauce during Southwest music festival at an Austin restaurant. Unlike KISS and Lynyrd Skynyrd, Billy attempts to pull off an actual barbecue sauce instead of the same old Habañero concoction.  The sauce sells for under $10 on Billy Gibbons website and according to Billy's website sells in 'limited quantities'. Making it sound like gold is rarer than Billy's sauce, and gold sells for thousands. For another $8 you can get the companion hot sauce for a 'fire-inducing flavor'.

2. Joe Perry's 'Boneyard Brew' Hot Sauce

If you're looking for a hot sauce with a rock star's name on the label according to The Great Rock N Roll Hot Sauce Challenge Aerosmith's Joe Perry delivers. Despite the vague picture of a guitarist on the bottle it lives up to quality with a 'slow lingering burn'. The Great Hot Sauce Challenge says, "It’ll take you straight to the other side and you won’t wanna come back. Forget Bret Michaels, Perry and his poorly-named hot sauce are here to rock your world." Joe also has a mango peach Habañero hot sauce.

1. Zakk Wylde's Berserker 'Stronger Than Death' Hot Sauce

What could be stronger than death? According to the one customer review on Amazon.com by a guy in New York it's recommended for hot sauce enthusiasts, not the casual hot sauce lover. It reportedly will 'leave your mouth and tongue burning'. If you want to add an 'intense kick' to your food, making the sauce that's like a kick to your mouth by the former Ozzy guitarist a winner. He also has three other flavors 'Original', 'Sonic Brew' and 'Shot to Hell'.

With one possible exception.

Honorable Mention and Serious Contender: Cheech & Chong's Up in Smoke Hot Sauces

The honorable mention goes to Cheech and Chong who also have their own line of sauces. If anyone knows about making munchies even better it's this duo! Cheech and Chong have a total of five sauces in several varieties and peppers. Up in Smoke Habañero Hot Sauce, Chong's Red Bud Cayanne Hot Sauce, Cheech's Home Grown Jalapeño Hot Sauce and Cheech Mojo Mango Habañero Hot Sauce.
