Passes to Vail + 33 Other Ski Resorts’ Prices Dropping
Vail Resorts announced that following a rough year for all, the company will be lowering the price of its Epic Pass by 20% for the 2021-2022 season.
The Epic Pass, while belonging to Vail Resorts, gives access to 34 ski resorts in North America alone, including many of Colorado's most popular ski areas.
By making this price cut, the Epic Pass will be the same price as all the way back during the 2015-2016 season, when Vail Resort's properties totalled only 11 ski areas.
Vail Resorts CEO Rob Katz had this to say in the company's official press release:
The ski industry, our company and skiers and riders everywhere just navigated the most challenging season we have ever encountered. As we double down on our pass strategy by dramatically reducing our pass prices, we are excited to make it easier for everyone to move into a pass, and we remain fully committed to ensuring continuous improvements in the guest experience. The new prices announced (Wednesday) not only provide value to existing skiers and riders, but we also believe they will contribute to the growth and vitality of our sport as we bring new people and higher engagement into the industry, which we think is imperative. We also believe these lower prices will benefit our financial results based on new learnings from the past few years.
Despite the Epic Pass' prices being slashed, they still carry quite a hefty price tag, as they can range from a little over $300 to nearly $800. However, for an avid skier, they are a much better investment than single-day lift tickets.
