Police say efforts are underway to return close to 30,000 bees stolen from a farm in Northglenn, Colorado. It seems this was all a misunderstanding.

I have visions in my mind of thieves showing up at A-1 Pawn and Loan looking to unload some 30,000 "hot" bees. Along with this vision are images of Bo Diddley saying, "Those bees are so hot, they're smokin'."

Well, as it turns out, the case of the disappearing bees may have been a huge misunderstanding. The owner of the farm says someone believed they could take the bees since the property was being sold. According to CBS4, roughly 30,000 bees and hives were posted on Craigslist at a price around $600.

The hot property was purchased by a beekeeper who saw the news reports and quickly brought the transaction to the attention of the police.

That's the good news. Here's the bad part. According to CBS4, some of the bees did not survive.
