Lottery Winner: Colorado Cancer Survivor Wins $2 Million

A woman from Aurora hit the jackpot in Monument and won $2 million playing the Mega Millions Lottery. The woman is a cancer survivor and was recently laid off.

Katie M. was driving through Monument with her husband when picked up the winning ticket at a gas station. Spending an extra dollar on her lottery ticket doubled her winnings from $1 million to $2 million because of the Megaplier.

According to the Gazette, whenver Katie found out that she won, she asked her husband to double check her ticket. She was in shock and just couldn't believe she had won $2 million.

Katie winning the lottery literally came at the perfect time, because she's had some terrible luck as of recently. She lost her job and was in a car wreck that totaled her car, according to the Gazette.

She plans on paying off student loans with her $2 million as well going back to school and taking a dream vacation to the Cayman Islands with her husband.
