Hotline Where Colorado Can Call to Get Uplifting Messages From Kindergartners
Are you in need of encouraging thoughts? Life in Colorado can be stressful. There's a new hotline you can call to get positive and uplifting thoughts from kindergartners.
Give this a try. It's toll-free and might be just what the doctor ordered.
The Positive Thoughts We Need in Colorado
The world is getting crazy. These are stressful times. To top it off, weird winter weather is rolling into Colorado, and one of our towns just woke up to the coldest temperature in the nation.
What we need now are encouraging words and positive thoughts. That's where this new hotline comes in. If nothing else, you might even pick up some sage words of advice.
I Just Gave This a Try
When you call Peptoc at 707-998-8410, you'll be greeted by recorded voices from kindergarten students at West Side Elementary in Healdsburg, California. From there, children's voices will guide you through a list of options:
If you're feeling mad, frustrated or nervous, press 1. If you need words of encouragement and life advice, press 2. If you need a pep talk from kindergartners, press 3. If you need to hear kids laughing with delight, press 4. For encouragement in Spanish, press 5.
Simply hearing the children read off the menu is worth making the call. From there, it only gets better. Take a listen to a portion from a call I made earlier this morning.
How Did This Come About?
According to npr.org, this project was the brainchild of teachers Jessica Martin and Asherah Weiss. Martin, who teaches the arts program, states she was inspired by her students' positive attitudes, despite all they've been through. To put that in perspective, imagine what these young students from California have endured recently:
- A genuine pain-in-the-butt pandemic for starters
- California wildfires
- All the challenges of being a child
- $5.75 a gallon gas prices in California (not that kids buy much gas)
Two days after launching this hotline, they were already receiving 700 calls per hour.
This Is Just What Colorado Needs
Give this hotline a call anytime you need. It will brighten your day, or quite possibly, renew your faith in humanity. Looking at Denver right now, 10:59 a.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2022, they are getting hammered with snow. It's only going to get uglier when Monday rolls around. Grand Lake, Colorado is wishing they were Denver. They have snow all week, with an expected low tonight of -3. If the late-winter blues set in, don't hesitate to fire up this awesome hotline.
