Tonight the stars of the AFC and the NFC battle it out on the gridiron; does anybody care about the Pro Bowl? For years the NFL has tried to make more out of the Pro Bowl with no success. They have tried moving the date as well as the location but nothing has worked. I have a couple of ideas that might help.

The Pro Bowl shouldn’t be played in Hawaii. The players take their families and use it as a vacation. I have heard many players say this in interviews and it ticks me off. This is part of your job and they do get paid for it, some even get a bonus to make the Pro Bowl. I know the game doesn’t mean anything except to the people who buy the tickets, airfare to Hawaii, Hotel in Hawaii and any other needs they may have while in Hawaii going to the Pro Bowl, but if the NFL wants to make more out of this game then they need the players to step up and play a real game.

If the NFL wants to make the Pro Bowl more than what it is today, then they need to move it to the main land and not at the site of the Super Bowl. That was the problem last time. They held the Pro Bowl at the same site as the Super Bowl and it didn’t work out. There is just too much stuff to do in the two weeks of these events. The Pro Bowl should be like any of the other All-Star games and move from city to city each year. While New Orleans is hosting the Super Bowl this year the Pro Bowl could have been in Phoenix. The NFL does a great job of putting on the event and if they did it on the mainland maybe more fans could get to the game.

The other thing is make the players do their jobs. Besides playing the game they should have to take time and sign autographs for the fans. I know a guy like Tom Brady is worried about some guy selling the autograph he just got on E-Bay (what a line of S%$#) Tom Brady make millions of dollars each year and he is worried that some guy selling his autograph on E-Bay for $800. The NFL can set up a couple of times the week of the Pro Bowl, sell tickets and let the fans see their hero’s up close.

I just think the NFL would find that the Pro Bowl would do better if they took a little time and made it better for the fans and not just some cool vacation to Hawaii for the players.
