It’s no secret that I like beer, and think the fine students of Grand Junction can use some help, that's why I'll be out drinking Saturday. For a good cause.

Why not drink together on the Ale House Patio for their second S.U.R.G. event, that means "Stand Up and Raise Your Glass." For a mere $20 you can help some kids too, and since it starts at 5 pm, you have time to get your chores done.

The money goes to a good cause, the nonprofit Kids Aid helps supply food for hungry kids and Mesa County County District 51 school's Backpack Program will get the proceeds. So feel good while your pouring that beer down your gullet.

Too broke to afford the $20? It's all good, we feel your pain. That's why the Ale House will let you get in for $5 if you bring one of these approved items.

After all that hard work is done, it's time to enjoy some of these tasty beers from Breckridge, Kannah Creek, Rockslide, Oskar Blues and Colorado Cider Company. And for you winos and booze hounds, Grande River Winery and 44 North Vodka will also be on hand.

Get a few friends together and join me a night at the Ale House for the S.U.R.G. Brew Fest.
