Grand Junction Residents Spotted in President George Bush Video

You may have seen the recent video message from President George W. Bush, but did you notice a couple of Grand Junction residents in the video?

In the twitter video, released by the George W. Bush Presidential Center, the former president recalled the nation's recovery from 9-11 and offered hope that the nation would, in like fashion, recover from the devastating effects of the coronavirus pandemic. "Remember that empathy and simple kindness are essential powerful tools of national recovery,"  he says, as he implores the nation to end the partisanship that has been evident in the battle against this virus.

At the 1:55 point in the video, you'll see a woman looking through a glass door at an elderly woman wearing a mask and their hands pressed against the glass. The woman in the video is Lori Ingelhart, and the elderly woman in the mask is her mother, Mary Diamond, both from Grand Junction.

As this image illustrates, as well as others in the video, we are all in this together. COVID-19 does not discriminate based on race, religion, sexual orientation, or political affiliation. People from all walks of life have been dramatically affected by the virus. We can point fingers and blame until the cows come home, but the only thing that will get us through this is all of us working together for a common cause and laying aside our differences to achieve a common goal.
