Grand Junction Colorado's 2021 Ends on a High Note

The young man in the photo at the top of this post is Fallon. The guitar he's playing is a Dean Dimebag Darrell ML Guitar. There's an interesting story behind how these two came to be united.

Hart Music at 417 Main Street in Grand Junction posted the story on their Facebook page. According to the post, "Over the last couple of years, he [Fallon] would visit the store from Montrose. His request each time was to play the “Pantera” guitar."

According to Aaron Hart, Fallon is more than familiar with a few Dimebag guitar riffs. Apparently, Fallon is quite the music aficionado, with the dream of one day owning this signature guitar.

Aaron Hart adds, "Eight months ago, when he was in the store playing it, another customer took notice of Fallon. It moved this customer so much he returned to the store later, purchased the guitar, and asked us to give the guitar to Fallon anonymously the next time we saw him."

The Plot Unfolds

So far, this is the most awesome story of 2021. There was, however, one problem. Here comes the wrinkle in the plan. With the guitar all paid for and ready to go, Fallon never reappeared to receive the generous gift. The crew at Hart Music had no idea where to find him or how to contact his family. That changed on December 30, 2021.

Last Thursday, December 30, Fallon and his family stopped by Hart Music. As it turns out, the family had moved to Texas. Fortunately, they came back to Grand Junction to visit for the holidays. At this time, the family was informed as to the generous gift.

Aaron Hart said, "It was a wonderful experience to gift Fallon his dream guitar as a gift from a kind stranger. His mom burst into tears, and Fallon beamed with excitement. It was a special moment. There are still good people in this world."

The Guitar in Question

In case you are wondering, and not that it matters, but this particular guitar retails in the $1,000 range. It would have been a generous gift at any price, but put simply, this is a nice guitar. It features a Seymour Duncan SH13 Dimebucker and DMT Design neck humbuckers. Other features include dot inlays, classic V headstock shape, 24-3/4" scale, Grover tuners, and a Floyd Rose Special bridge.

Perfect Way to Wind Up 2021

This story alone suggests 2021 ended far better than it started. I can think of no better gift than the gift of music. Having a solid instrument, preferably your "dream" instrument makes it that much better. Here's a big "thank you" to the anonymous person responsible for this awesome gift.
