Local Music Competition with Big Prize Returns to Aspen Colorado
The town of Aspen, Colorado, is known for a number of things other than being a world-famous ski town. There are the famous scenes from Dumb and Dumber, Gonzo journalist Hunter S. Thompson's iconic run for mayor, and even a recently shared story involving wolves on the Joe Rogan Experience.

However, for local musicians, one of the coolest events that takes place in the ski town is a music competition called Aspen Rocks.
Aspen Rocks Music Competition Returns to the Colorado Ski Town
The Aspen Rocks Music Competition is just that, a music competition where six student musicians perform and compete for a prize that would likely be unattainable otherwise - a chance to record at the legendary Mad Dog Ranch + Studios.

This year's competition will be taking place at the Wheeler Opera House on Saturday, April 12, at 6:30 p.m.
The judges of this year's Aspen Rocks Music Competition will include Colorado musician Josefina Mendez, a surprise judge who has yet to be announced, and Western Colorado hometown hero and bassist for the wildly popular Grand Junction band Peach Street Revival, Jordan Will.
First, second, and third place winners of the competition will be chosen, with the third place musician receiving a chance to perform in Mad Dog Ranch + Studios on video, the second place musician receiving a full day recording session with mentoring, and the first place winner receiving a two-day recording and mixing session valued at over $3,500.
Check out the official event page at Wheeler Opera House's website for more information.
