Prior to the festival's official kick-off, a free pre-festival event will be taking place on Thursday, August 28, at Grand Junction's Ramblebine Brewing Company, featuring performances from four local bands.

This year, Local Jam will feature 30 artists on two stages, including heavy metal act Haven Effect, country songstress Courtney Greiger, alternative cover band Union of None, and many more.

However, not only is Local Jam a great event for supporting local musicians in the Grand Valley, it is also a great way to support a good cause.

Grand Junction's Local Jam Benefits Suicide Prevention

Tickets to Local Jam range from $20 to $50, depending on how many days you plan on attending, but all of the artists that perform do it for free.

That's because Local Jam is also a fundraiser of sorts, and the proceeds from ticket sales benefit suicide prevention in the Grand Valley.
