State-of-the-Art Water Thrill Park Coming To Colorado
It appears that Colorado is getting a brand new water thrill park.
You may or may not have heard in recent months about Glacier Beach Colorado. It won't be long and Water World won't be the only game in town.
Glacier Beach is being called one of the most innovative water parks in the entire country. The state-of-the-art thrill park will feature at least eight "innovative and thrilling" attractions.
What Are the Attractions At Glacier Beach?
One of the highlights of the park will be what could be a Guinness World Record-breaking slide - potentially the longest and darkest water slide in the world. That right there tells you this will not be an ordinary water park. The Glacier Beach Facebook page says every attraction will seat at least two people - and some up to six. Every ride will have a return system, which means you don't have to carry a tube around the park or haul it all the way up to the top of a ride.
Other attractions include:
ICE BREAKER - A twist on a traditional water coaster where you accelerate quickly to the top and then twist and turn all the way down.
MT. RUSHMORE - Features two slides - the Double Helix offers group tubes that drop you into a bowl, spin around several times and then drop again. The Tornado Twister is a "wild, dark ride with visual and audio effects".
RAVIN' RACERS - A multi-lane slide that allows you to race your family and friends to the bottom.
RAPID RIVER - It's kind of like the lazy river you've done before, except it's faster and features waves and interactive water challenges.
FROZEN RIVERS: This is actually three slides in one - and two of them race each other on winding rivers down the gorge.
GLACIER WAVE POOL - Of course, you can't have a water park without a wave pool. This one is rumored to be a 360 circular wave pool.
ALPINE KIDS ACADEMY -This is an area with several smaller attractions for the little ones.
How Much Is It Going to Cost?
Right now it looks like the cost of a standard day ticket is $42 with a $99 premium ticket which included the all-day dining package and VIP relaxation zone.
When Will Glacier Beach Colorado Open?
At this point, Glacier Beach Colorado is slated to open in the spring/summer of 2024. Opening day is still a ways off, but it gives us all something to look forward to.
Where Will Glacier Beach Colorado Be Located?
While the exact location of Colorado's new water thrill park may not be known, the plan is for it to open west of Denver. I have a feeling that all of Colorado will be greatly anticipating this new water thrill park in 2024.
