Friday, The Avalon Is For Fishing Fans
It's the annual International Fly Fishing Film Festival at The Avalon Theater this Friday.
I'm a hard-core fisherman but being from the mid-west it's been mostly with baitcasting and spinning tackle in my hands. I took up fly fishing, sort of, several years ago when I wanted a different challenge when I'd hit some of my favorite farm ponds. A couple pound bass on a popping bug is a lot of fun. Since moving here to Colorado I've been trying to get conformable again with a fly rod in my hand.
Some of the best fly fishing footage in the world is coming to The Avalon Theater this Friday as the Grand Valley Anglers chapter of Trout Unlimited host the International Fly Fishing Film Festival. Doors are set to open at 6:30, the films begin at 7:00 pm. I went last year and enjoyed every minute of it and looking forward to this Friday's event.
