Supplies during this COVID-19 pandemic have been difficult to come by, especially the essential items we all need such as hand sanitizer and toilet paper. Those items are even more difficult for senior citizens and those with a weakened immune system as they are trying to not leave their homes if at all possible.

It's during these times that we have seen so many businesses and people step up to help those in need, just like Ashley Vangundy with 970 Insurance.

It was just yesterday (April 5th) that Ashley was giving away free senior care packages from 1-3 p.m. with a drive-thru at The Vault located at 2755 North Avenue. These packages include hand sanitizer, tissues, toilet paper, disinfectant, and other goodies. These were available while supplies last, only one bag per household, and were for senior citizens only.

The event was a success yesterday and Ashley is going to make it happen again once she stocks up on more supplies for the care packages. The next event will be on Sunday, April 19th again from 1-3 p.m. in the same location on North Avenue.

If you aren't a senior citizen but still want to help Ashley with her care packages? Just keep an eye out at local stores and if there is an abundance of items that she puts into those care packages, she wants you to call her at 970-712-8672. She will purchase all items needed and work to put them in care packages ready to be handed out.

Thank you to everyone who is helping our community during this difficult time!
