Forrest Fenn's hidden Colorado treasure chest has been found. A man found over $1 million worth of gold and jewels in the treasure chest in the Rocky Mountains.

About 10 years ago Forrest Fenn hid a treasure chest full of gold and jewels in the Rocky Mountains. Forrest wanted to get people outside more and wanted them to explore the wilderness and to give hope to people affected by the recession, so hid the treasure and wrote a book about it.

Forrest included clues which he said lead to the treasure in his memoir, 'The Thrill of the Chase', and the treasure was worth about $2 million. Lots and lots of people have tried to find Forrest's Fenn's hidden Colorado treasure.

Back in December, a Colorado Springs man tried to sue Forrest Fenn for $1.5 million, claiming that the clues to find the treasure are fake and Forrest purposefully led him away from it. Then in March, two Colorado men got lost trying to find the treasure and one of them passed away.

According to WGN9, the treasure was just found a few days ago and the person who found it wishes to remain anonymous. Forrest Fenn says the man confirmed that he found his hidden treasure chest in Colorado by sending him a picture and that he is from 'back East'.

The treasure chest is full of gold, rubies, emeralds, and diamonds and is worth over $1 million. About 350,000 people from all around the world went treasure hunting for Forrest Fenn's hidden Colorado treasure, according to WGN9. Some of which quit their jobs in hopes of finding the treasure.

Congratulations to whoever found Forrest Fenn's hidden treasure chest in the Rockies. If we found over $1 million in the mountains, we would want to remain anonymous too. According to WGN9, Forrest Fenn said this on his website:

I congratulate the thousands of people who participated in the search and hope they will continue to be drawn by the promise of other discoveries.

We wonder if Forrest will announce another hidden treasure.
