Colorado Ranked 21st Most Dangerous State
Colorado was ranked the 21st most dangerous state by LawnStarter.
Alaska came in at number one, while New Hampshire was ranked the safest state.
The rankings are based on the likelihood of a crime being committed and include statistics on murder, rape, robbery, larceny, motor vehicle theft, aggravated assault, burglary, and arson. They also ranked the states based on the amount of jail time given for each crime, based on the Time served in Prison report from the US Department of Justice.
The report also ranked the most dangerous cities in Colorado and Grand Junction was ranked the 4th most dangerous city in Colorado.
The safest city in Colorado, according to the report was Windsor. while the most dangerous city in Colorado was Pueblo.
While the robbery and murder rate in Colorado is below the national average, other crimes such as arson, burglary, and violent crimes, for example, rank above the national average.
