We took the drive down to my old stomping grounds in Federal Heights, Colo. to check out the giant "Christmas In Color" drive-thru event in the Water World parking lot last week. Was it worth the drive?

If you've driven I-25 in either direction around the Thornton Parkway exit, you've no doubt seen the enormous Christmas in Color spectacular from the highway.

It's so bright and large that even from the interstate, which is miles away from the actual event, you can still see it! I took my family down there this past Wednesday night before all of the Thanksgiving insanity took over my house and we really enjoyed it!

It's a per-vehicle cost - $35 the night we went but we got our ticket on Groupon and saved a few bucks - so we get as many people together as we can. My folks live down in Northglenn so we had them meet us and all loaded up in the bed of the truck. Dress warm, I didn't and regretted it.

We then took in this fantastic display of synchronized lights and sound. Here are some pictures that I took of the event from the bed of the truck as we cruised through the light.

Overall, my family, specifically my kids, loved it. The lights synced up with the music that plays through a small radio signal that you turn on in your vehicle so all of the vehicles going through the light display all hear the same tunes. Lots of singing and dancing in my truck from the fam and we absolutely loved it.

It only lasts about 15-20 minutes total once you get going, but to do something with your whole family for around $35 is a pretty good deal all things considered. Maybe not a "must do", but for sure something I think the whole family will enjoy if you're looking for something quick and easy to go do to get in the holiday spirit.
