Many businesses have struggled because of the pandemic, and you can throw arts and culture enterprises in with local restaurants: theaters and cultural centers are struggling all across Colorado.

According to a press release from Colorado Creative Industries,

Colorado’s largest and fastest growing creative industries, including music, theater, dance, and visual arts, have been among the hardest hit by the impacts of COVID-19. Estimates are that between April and July 2020, creative industries as a whole lost 59.6K jobs and $2.6B.

This is where the Colorado Arts Relief Grant comes in. Thanks to the program, 722 grantees, including individuals, businesses, and organizations, have been awarded $7.4 million dollars to support their arts enterprises. Favorite Colorado venues were grantees: for example, Larimer Lounge and the Rialto Theater were both given grants. The Lincoln Center in Fort Collins, the Union Colony Civic Center in Greeley, and the beloved Mishawaka were included as well.

Over 2,500 applications were reviewed and those who suffered the biggest losses were offered state support. To see the full list of those who were awarded, click here.
