Climb The Manitou Incline, Get A Free Beer

Phantom Canyon Brewery is giving out a free beer to Manitou Incline hikers that make the top.

If you're heading over on the front range for a weekend and plan to challenge the Manitou Incline, don't forget to snag your free Phantom Canyon beer if you complete the feat.

I've only seen pictures and they look pretty intimidating. If I walk up a half a half-dozen floors in most buildings, I'm winded. I can't imagine tackling this beast. The Incline is famous for its super-scenic views and of course, it's steep grade. I thought the walk to the top of Red Rocks Amphitheater was tough. It's nothing compared to this. The Manitou Incline has an average grade of 45% with some portions as steep as 68% not to mention the 2,000 feet of elevation change. Only the fittest should take the challenge. My co-worker 99.9 KEKB afternoon personality Waylon Jordon replied: "It's a bitch." Mix 104.3 midday host, Traci Rock replied "It's suicide" when I asked them about bout their recent climbs to the top. Guess I'm out.

To cash in your free beer you'll need to show your photo at the brewery located in downtown Colorado Springs. You will have earned it.
