Christmas Theme Throughout Weekend Events December 13-15
Christmas is definitely the theme for scheduled events from now until December 25, and if you are looking for something to do this weekend, here's what to expect:

Holiday Lights Display

Treat yourself and family to a lovely holiday tradition…walking among the Christmas lighting display at the Western Colorado Gardens. Santa will be there every Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Admission is $5 for everyone 8 and over. Complimentary Hot Cider and Hot Chocolate will also be available.

Spirit of Christmas Walk

This event is a gift from local entertainers and downtown merchants to the Grand Valley community. A wide range of entertainers are expected to perform during the event, and Santa will also be on hand. Other activities include free horse drawn carriage rides. Businesses will be open until 9:00 p.m.

Chocolate Walk

Admission is $10, and all paid participants will receive a special commemorative mug filled with Enstrom’s hot chocolate. Also, children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Sounds of the Season

Tree of Lights Fundraiser

The Atrium of Grand Valley is hosting its first ever Tree of Lights Fundraiser. The Tree of Lights is expected to be a spectacular winter wonderland that will delight the hearts of all ages. The trees will remain on display through December 28 and winners will be announced at that time.

Free Carriage Rides

Downtown Grand Junction will have free carriage rides and Santa visits every Saturday and Sunday through December 22. The event takes place from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m., and activities include holiday music, Santa and horse-drawn carriage rides. The carriage rides are provided by Absolute Prestige Limousine Service.

13th Annual Candy Cane Hunt

Activities include a holiday craft, cookies, and cocoa. Also, Mesa County Library will perform “Santa’s New Suit” puppet show. At exactly 11:00 a.m., the hunt for candy canes will begin.
