'Batman and Superman' may be one of the big event films of 2015, but the film is still trying to find its cast. Sure, Henry Cavill is a lock as Superman, but recent word is that Warner Brothers is asking Christian Bale to re-don the cape and cowl, and is willing to pay him a lot to do so. But even then, who knows if he'll say yes? Bryan Cranston seems to want to make casting that much easier, as he's expressed interest in playing Lex Luthor.

In talking to Metro, Cranston had this to say: “Give me a call, I like Lex Luthor. I think he’s misunderstood. He’s a loveable, sweet man." Early word had both his name and Mark Strong's thrown about, though Lex as a big character made more sense when the project was a straight-ahead 'Man of Steel' sequel. But if the end is eventually Batman and Superman working together (as set up for a 'Justice League' movie), then it's good to pit them against a common enemy.

Even if this is just an actor putting his hat in the ring, it's not like he needs the project to keep busy. Cranston's turn as Walter White on 'Breaking Bad' re-engergized his career, and has made him a go-to supporting actor. Since 2011 he's already had supporting roles in twelve different movies on top of 'Breaking Bad,' while he'll be playing one of the leads in 2014's 'Godzilla.' Still, there's no denying he can rock the bald look and play evil.
