…And Now For Some Good News, As In Tastes Good
On this election day evening, I say we find something we can agree to get excited about. There will be some, the lactose intolerant and vegans, not thrilled with the news but the rest of us will rejoice when I inform you that Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is coming to Grand Junction!
I'm a bit of an "expert" when it comes to Freddy's. They opened their first store in Wichita, KS in 2002. Shorty after my arrival to Wichita in 2004 the company opened its first franchise in Hutchinson, Kansas. Freddy’s was founded by Scott Redler and two brothers, Bill and Randy Simon, whose father, Freddy Simon, was the inspiration for the burger joint.
It was in Wichita that I tried my first Freddy's Steakburger. Not only are they amazing, the frozen custard is off the chart! Let me say too, I'm not a fan of most chain restaurants. But when it comes to franchise burger joints In & Out and Freddy's set the standard.
And not only is Grand Junction getting one...but two stores!
Construction is already underway at the future Freddy's at 737 Horizon Drive.
The second location will be along HWY 6 about the 2400 block near I-70.
In April 2011, the company opened its 50th store in Victorville, CA, and in October 2013 its 100th store in Bowling Green, KY. Its 150th location opened in April 2015 in Loveland, CO. There are currently more than 220 Freddy’s locations nationwide.
Freddy's coming, and I'm already feeling better about the future of this great country.
