The National Weather Service predicts 88 degrees on Saturday (June 2) and 93 by Monday. Now's the time for a Long Island Iced Tea. One Grand Junction restaurant can do even better. How about a $1 Long Island Iced Tea?

Just in time for hot temperatures, Applebee's in Grand Junction announces the return of the $1 L.I.T. That's right, a Long Island Iced Tea for just a buck. How long is this offer good for? The entire month of June.

Personally, I've never had a Long Island Iced Tea. For that matter, I can't recall the last time I had a beer. Wine? That's a different story. What exactly goes into a Long Island Iced Tea?

According to Wikipedia, they consists of the following:

  • Vodka
  • Tequila
  • Light rum
  • Triple Sec
  • Gin
  • and a splash of Cola

Wow, that seems like a lot of booze, and a lot of fuss. I'll stick with wine. In the meantime, though, this seems like a great deal for $1.

I called the Applebee's on Horizon Drive in Grand Junction to confirm this deal is available locally. They responded in the affirmative. The deal is good at the Grand Junction location for the entire month of June.

This really isn't my "cup of tea" so to speak, but for $1, I might just have to give it a try. If you get there before I do, send me a report.
