What's more, the announcement came down just a few weeks before the final festival is set to kick off.

What is Colorado's Underground Music Showcase?

Since its inception in 2001, the Underground Music Showcase has been a massive music festival that brought local musicians, national acts, and music fans from Denver and beyond together for an unforgettable weekend of music from a variety of artists.

This year's Underground Music Showcase, often abbreviated to UMS, will take place between July 25 and 27 at 12 venues across Denver and will feature over 200 local and National bands and artists.

Why is Colorado's Underground Music Showcase Going Away?

It should go without saying that a music festival of this caliber takes a lot of work, time, and money to put together.

Unfortunately, according to festival managers Jami Duffy and Casey Berry, rising costs and poor ticket sales over the past three years have put the event's future in question and reluctantly, it was decided that this year's festival would be the last.

This year marks the 25th Underground Music Showcase and while the event has been a great opportunity for local artists to showcase their talents and music, the last quarter century has also seen UMS grow into Denver's largest and longest-running event of its kind.
