For the heath conscious it's difficult to always find the right thing for lunch. This post has nothing to do with food and everything to do with fresh air and exercise. There are over 40 miles of hiking trails in the nearby Colorado National Monument.  The Devil's Kitchen hike is the perfect way to spend your lunch hour.

Again, as most of you locals know, Devils Kitchen is just inside the east entrance on the edge of town. The ease of access makes it perfect for your lunch hour. Bring a few snacks and enjoy your lunch sitting on the ledge looking out over Junction or you can face towards the west and take in the view as cars make their way up and down the side of the Monument. The trail itself isn't that difficult.  It's the final ascent to the top of the Kitchen that gives you a bit of a workout. The weather this week looks perfect. Get out and enjoy what the "kitchen" is serving up. You'll be glad you did.
