The difficulty with a rescue operation such as this is to try and rescue the person in the vehicle while not losing the vehicle itself. Crews were able to remove the person from the vehicle but it is unknown at this time if that person was the only person in the vehicle. The truck was pulling a camper, which remained on the road.

The identity of the individual in the vehicle, a 2000 red Toyota, is unknown at this time but authorities expect once the coroner has completed their work they will contact next of kin before the identity of the person is revealed.

With winter-type weather creeping into the western slope, please remember to drive carefully and responsibly this holiday season.
