The seemingly endless lines of orange cones around Grand Junction may start disappearing soon.

We all know that summer is the busiest time when it comes to road construction. The longer days and warm weather are more conducive to getting the projects completed. With fall right around the corner, the road construction is tapering off.

The City of Grand Junction reports that annoying "chip seal" project is finished. Good deal! That seemed to be going on everywhere, all the time. I went through at least one can of bug and tar remover to get those black specks off my fender wells.

There is one more project starting next week. There will be repairs on South Broadway just west of 20 ½ Road. After that's complete we may be home free, at least until next summer.
